The Scottish Civic Trust is working with local affiliated groups
in Glasgow to establish a Glasgow Civic Forum. Building on the
Glasgow Conservation Forum which was set up in 1999 as an informal
association of conservation & amenity groups in support of
Glasgow's unique heritage, the new Civic Forum will address wider
built environment issues and aims to:
- provide a forum for community councils, local associations,
amenity and civic groups to discuss issues of common interest
- to strengthen the dialogue between civic groups in the
city and share best practice
- to encourage greater interest and involvement in national
planning and built environment initiatives.
Membership is free and open to representatives of the following
groups within the Glasgow City Council boundaries:
- Community Councils
- Street Associations
- Area Associations
- Civic/amenity groups
- Local interest groups
- Building Preservation Trusts
- Other heritage groups
The Forum is not usually open to private individuals, political
groups or commercial organisations.
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month.
