Edinburgh South Side Community Council has launched a new
campaign to save the former Odeon cinema on Clerk Street. The
building has been vacant since its closure in 2003 and has been the
subject of controversial redevelopment plans recently refused by
the Scottish Government. The group are calling for the City of
Edinburgh Council to carry out urgent works to repair the building
and to begin compulsory purchase proceedings to buy the building
from its current owners. Visit the website to find
out more about the campaign and sign their petition.

The Category B-listed cinema has been on the
Buildings at Risk Register since its closure in
2003.
