Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland
(AHSS)
The Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland is concerned with
the protection, preservation, study and appreciation of Scotland's
buildings. The Society has about 1100 members
throughout Scotland and beyond, and six regional groups organising
local activities and carrying out casework.
Architecture Centre Network
Architecture Centre Network is the national development and
advocacy organisation for 20+ independent architecture centres in
UK; working together to promote engagement with architecture and
the built environment. SCT is an affiliated member.
Architecture + Design
Scotland
Architecture and Design Scotland (A+DS) is Scotland's champion
for excellence in placemaking, architecture and planning. It is an
Executive NDPB of the Scottish Government. A+DS aims to support the
creation of places that work, which provide people with real
choices and, are ultimately, places where people want to be.
Archaeology
Scotland
Archaeology Scotland supports local archaeological initiatives
and campaigns for the best possible conservation and management of
our heritage. Archaeology Scotland coordinates Scottish Archaeology
Month nationwide.
Association for the Protection of Rural
Scotland (APRS)
APRS works to protect Scotland's world renowned landscape and
the amenity of the countryside.
Built
Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS)
Performing an intermediary role, BEFS supports its members by
raising awareness of, and facilitating joint working on, strategic
issues of common interest. BEFS is the only
membership forum operating in Scotland that brings together
voluntary and professional bodies in the built environment
sector.
Civic Trust
for Wales
The Civic Trust for Wales promotes civic pride as a means
to improving the quality of life for all in the places where we
live and work, and encourages community action, good design,
sustainable development and respect for the built environment
amongst people of all ages.

Voice
Civic Voice is the national charity for the civic movement in
England. They aim to make places more attractive, enjoyable and
distinctive and to promote civic pride.
Historic Scotland
Historic Scotland is the executive agency of the Scottish
Government charged with safeguarding the nation's historic
environment and promoting its understanding and enjoyment on behalf
of Scottish Ministers.
Institute of Historic
Building Conservation (IHBC)
The IHBC is the principal
professional body for building conservation practitioners and
historic environment specialists working in England,
Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
North of
England Civic Trust
For over 40 years NECT has been active in conservation and
regeneration across the North East of England, North Yorkshire and
Cumbria. As a civic trust NECT champions public involvement in the
processes that shape the environment, often working with local
groups.
Planning
Aid for Scotland
Planning Aid for Scotland is a unique, independent, charity that
helps people shape their communities by engaging with the planning
system
Planning Democracy
Planning Democracy is campaigning for a fair and inclusive
planning system in Scotland. Planning Democracy advocates for
transparent accountable decision making based on a level playing
field between the public and other stakeholders.
SURF - Scotland's independent regeneration
network
SURF provides a neutral space for those concerned with community
regeneration in Scotland to share knowledge and experience with a
view to improving policy and practice.
The Royal Commission on the Ancient and
Historical Monuments of Scotland (RCAHMS)
RCAHMS is one of Scotland's National Collections. It has a
unique responsibility to gather information on the built heritage
of the nation, to safeguard the resulting archive to the highest
standards and to make this information as widely available as
possible.
