Briefing Note on Historic Scotland Managing Change Guidance Notes published

11 Jan 2010, 11:33

The Memorandum of Guidance on Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas was last published in August 1998 provided national policy and advice on the historic environment. The Memorandum was withdrawn in July 2009 when policy elements of the Memorandum were superseded by the development of Scottish Ministers' Scottish Historic Environment Policy.

The detailed guidance provided by the Annexes to the Memorandum has now been superseded by Historic Scotland's 'Managing Change in the Historic Environment' guidance note series. The initial series of 14 guidance notes was available for consultation in December 2009.

The Scottish Civic Trust has prepared this briefing note to outline our
response to this consultation and to highlight some of the key issues which arise in this series.

A copy of this briefing note can be found in the publication section of the web site, under Reports.
