What We Do

Support the Trust

The Scottish Civic Trust relies on financial support from a diverse range of sources from Individuals, Companies and from Charitable Trusts and Foundations, as well as grants from Central and Local Government.

By supporting The Scottish Civic Trust you will be encouraging:-

  • public concern for the built environment;
  • high quality in the planning and construction of new buildings;
  • conservation or adaptation for re-use of older buildings of distinction or historic interest;
  • informed and effective input into planning matters;
  • elimination of ugliness, resulting from social deprivation, bad design or neglect;
  • education and development in conservation;
  • active participation by individuals in their heritage;
  • change in public attitude and perceptions towards the built environment;
  • debate and input into Scottish affairs.

If you care about Scotland’s built environment and heritage, then there are four ways in which you may be able to help us.

  1. Become a Donor
  2. Become a Sponsor
  3. Become a Supporter
  4. Remember us in your will

As a Sponsor you could be involved in helping produce a publication, our ongoing work with Buildings at Risk or other exciting projects such as Photoarch, our heritage photographic competition for primary schools across Scotland. Please contact us for sponsorship opportunities.

By becoming a Supporter of the Trust, you assist in building our capacity to actively promote and protect Scotland's unique and special places. Please contact the Office for more details.

As The Scottish Civic Trust is a Registered Charity (SCO12569), there are tax-efficient ways of contributing:

  1. A single payment, using the Gift Aid scheme.
  2. Annual payments either open-ended or for fixed periods (usually 4 or 7 years) using the Gift Aid scheme.
  3. A single gift from a company or partnership.
  4. Through a tax-exempt charitable trust.
  5. By direct, tax free, transfer of assets.

There is also limited scope for assisting us by acting as a Volunteer. Please contact the office directly.
