Trust Seeks New Chair

The Scottish Civic Trust is now seeking a new Chair of its Board of Trustees.

With a clear Strategic Plan in place, a highly motivated staff team and a dedicated Board of Trustees, this is an excellent opportunity to fulfil a leading role in a respected national body with an exciting agenda. The Trust is delivering innovative and sector-leading actions that are aimed at celebrating Scotland’s built environment, taking action for its improvement, and empowering its communities.

The new Chair will be someone who is passionate about Scotland’s communities, built environment and heritage. Whilst they are likely to have a strong interest and affinity with Scotland’s built heritage and its conservation, the Trust is increasingly involved with a wider range of issues, such as community empowerment and quality of life in relation to our built environment more broadly.

The core responsibilities of the Chair are to lead our Board of Trustees, to act as an ambassador for the Trust where required, and to support our ambitious and dynamic professional team. We envisage that the new Chair will be enthusiastic for our mission and vision, a recognisable figure in their field and able to commit sufficient energy to the Trust in the years ahead.

The role is unremunerated but covers travel costs and other out-of-pocket expenses.

Closing date for applications: 30 June 2020.
