Joe has a passion for ensuring that heritage is relevant to all of Scotland’s communities through both regeneration and placemaking. As Head of Museums Development at Museums Galleries Scotland, he led on the development and delivery of Scotland’s National Strategy for Museums and managed the provision of associated areas of support. With extensive experience across the heritage sector, Joe is an advocate of the wider impacts of heritage on the lives of people in Scotland and beyond, whether to increase health and wellbeing, improve educational outcomes or provide inclusive career pathways.

He is a Trustee of the Culture, Animal and Active Trusts at the People’s Postcode Lottery, a former Trustee of the Education and Equalities Trusts, a Trustee of Glasgow City Heritage Trust and a Community Councillor for the Springboig and Barlanark areas of Glasgow. He is also a Fellow of the Museums Association, the Royal Society of Arts, the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland and the Chartered Institute of Management.

Joe works Monday - Thursday, 8am - 6pm.

Susanna joined the Trust as Finance Manager in March 2025 having previously worked for a mental health charity. She worked as an accountant in the property sector and has 18 years of experience in finance.
Susanna has done voluntary work with a number of Social Enterprises over the last 5 years and is a part time goldsmith running her own jewellery business.

Susanna works Monday 9am - 12pm, and Tuesdays and Wednesdays 9am - 5pm

Jen works for the Trust as the Diverse Heritage Project Officer. She is an historian and archaeologist. Her heritage projects include the University of Glasgow’s First World War centenary commemorations, the Erskine Centenary Community Project, and ‘Justice Not Charity Was Their Cry’ in partnership with Disability History Scotland. She cares deeply about public history / heritage and making the past accessible to all.

Jen works 4 days per week: Monday - Thursday, 9am – 5pm.

Emily has been with the Trust since 2021 and took up post as the Doors Open Days Manager in March 2023. She holds a MA(Hons) in Ancient History and Archaeology from the University of St Andrews and a MPhil in Classical Archaeology from the University of Oxford. Emily has experience working in libraries, archives, and museums across the UK and Greece, including time spent working on archaeological excavations. She is interested in innovative ways of sharing heritage with wider audiences and encouraging these communities to share their own stories.

Emily works 5 days per week: Monday - Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Alex works for the Trust as Doors Open Days Officer, ensuring that the festival remains welcoming and accessible to all. Alex holds a Master's Degree in Participatory Arts. Alex is also Chairperson of the New Glasgow Society SCIO a civic society working to promote and protect the Glasgow's built environment and cultural life.

Alex is a Director of Springburn Auditorium C.I.C., an upcycled community arts venue in North Glasgow. Alex also works as a freelance Community Engagement Artist with a focus on placemaking.  

Alex works 3 days per week: Tuesday - Thursday 9am - 5pm

Phoenix Archer is a heritage professional and multidisciplinary artist. She works for a mental health facility and Creative Lives. Phoenix has a history of engaging in the arts, culture and heritage sector in England and Scotland to promote healthy representation. She is a moderator at Queer Heritage Forum, a co-organiser at UnArchaeology and is the Creative Director at Progress in Dialogue. Phoenix runs the Scottish Black Owned and People of Colour Businesses and Opportunities groups. She likes to research diverse ways to increase respectful relationships with all kinds of people and create a more harmonious relationship between humans and the environment. Phoenix loves nature and exploring all things cultural and heritage based.

Phoenix works 3 days per week: Wednesday - Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Ed joined the Trust in June 2026 as Communications and Events Officer, bringing experience in marketing and communications within the third sector in Scotland.He leads on raising awareness of the Trust’s activities and is passionate about sharing the stories, places and identities that shape civic life across Scotland.

Ed works closely with groups and individuals to highlight their connections to place, and has a particular interest in initiatives and approaches that make civic heritage accessible to all, so that everyone can feel connected to civic life. Ed is also an enthusiastic reader with a particular interest in cultural studies and music.

Ed works 5 days per week: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm

Dimi joined the Scottish Civic Trust in June 2026 as My Place Officer. He studied History and Politics at the University of Glasgow. During his National Service in Greece, he was stationed at the Army History Directorate in Athens, and he has also volunteered as an archivist at the Royal Highland Fusiliers Museum in Glasgow. 

Since 2010, Dimi has developed substantial experience working with volunteer groups and delivering community-led projects. He is a Level 2 rowing coach and has contributed to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), including LGBTQ+ initiatives, at Clydesdale Amateur Rowing Club. Through Clydesdale ARC he also organised and delivered accessible rowing projects and outreach programmes in collaboration with local communities and partner organisations. He was also involved in the regeneration of the historic West Boathouse on Glasgow Green.

Dimi has a strong interest in Scotland’s built heritage and is committed to supporting communities to engage with and shape their local environment.

Dimi works 4 days per week: Monday - Thursday, 9am–5pm.

Emma is the Office Coordinator at the Scottish Civic Trust, providing organisational support across the Trust's programmes and day-to-day operations. She has extensive experience in the third sector across administration, funding and governance, supporting charities and community organisations to operate effectively. With a degree in history, she is delighted to combine her professional experience with her passion for the historic environment.

Emma works 4 days per week: Monday - Thursday, 10am - 2pm

Cameron Todd is the Partnership and Membership Officer at the Scottish Civic Trust. He joins the Trust with a professional background in strategic communications and fundraising. Cameron Is a graduate in English literature and Film from the University of Dundee, where his academic research interrogated the socio-cultural implications of technological change and digital evolution on contemporary culture. In his current role, he is responsible for developing and implementing new fundraising, sponsorship, and membership strategies designed to better support the Trust's long-term goals.

Cameron works 5 days per week: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
